Event 142: The Great Taff Tidy at Llandaff Rowing Club

For our next event we will be taking part in the Keep Wales Tidy (KWT) ‘Great Taff Tidy‘, a series of activities that are taking place from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 February. Hopefully, you will have seen the posters on display around the city near to where events are being planned. Thanks to our close links with KWT, we bagged Llandaff Rowing Club, as it’s the only spot on the Great Taff Tidy with a bar!

The activities we will get involved in will be varied, but will depend on how low the river level is. If it rains the night before, we may have to limit our scope.

As well as litter-picking both sides of the river, north and south, and provided the weather is good, the rowing club will kindly supply a boat so that we can cut back some of the overhanging branches that collect the litter and make the Taff look a mess. The waders team will take on the rubbish south of the weir.

With all the advertising, and given the interest we’ve experienced so far, we should get a good turn out so that we can really blitz the area.

For anyone that fancies a well-earned drink afterwards, the bar at the rowing club will be open from 12:00 and they will be putting on a BBQ for us, so be sure to bring some cash with you for food and drink.
